10 Story Mystery Magazine was a pulp fiction publication from Popular Publications that ran from 1941 to 1943. Despite its relatively short run of only nine issues, the magazine featured an eclectic mix of mystery stories from various notable authors.

Notable Contributors

The magazine attracted writers from diverse genres, including:

  • Lee E. Wells (Western writer)
  • John H. Knox (Weird Menace author)
  • C.M. Kornbluth (science fiction author, writing under the pseudonym Walter C. Davies)
  • Carl Jacobi (WEIRD TALES contributor)
  • O.B. Myers (aviation/air war author)

Publication History

After ceasing publication in 1943, 10 Story Mystery Magazine was absorbed by Dime Mystery magazine, which continued the publication’s legacy from mid-1944 onwards.

The magazine was a sister publication to the more successful 10 Story Western Magazine, though it didn’t achieve the same longevity.

The publication was part of the pulp magazine era, featuring genre fiction stories that often included mysterious and suspenseful narratives. Each issue contained, as the title suggests, ten complete mystery stories, providing readers with a variety of tales from different authors in a single volume.
