Aalardin was a knight, the son of Guiniacalc. Caradoc rescued the maiden Guignier from him, but after they fought, they became friends.

Aalardin would eventually accompany Caradoc back to Arthur’s court.

Later, the same Guignier who he had abducted lost her breast to a serpent whilst helping her husband. Aalardin, having a sense of the magical arts, helped to provide a magical golden breast using a magic shield.

He eventually married Guigenor, the grand-niece of Arthur.

He is mentioned in the first continuation of Chrétien’s Perceval, and his name is also spelled Alardin or Alardins.
